Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) is a young public university established in the year 2000 with the focus on technical-based education: engineering, IT and management technology, to meet the needs of local high-tech industries. UTeM is also active in research and development activities in the identified key areas such as Green Technology, System Engineering, Human-Technology Interaction, and Emerging Technology. UTeM is an international university with a number of students coming from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Chad, Syria, Pakistan, Camerron, Bangladesh, Tanzania and India.

Dr Roszaidi Ramlan

Biography
Roszaidi has been actively involved in the study of harvesting energy from ambient vibration. He obtained a PhD from the Institute of Sound and Vibration (ISVR), University of Southampton UK with a thesis entitled Effects of a non-linear stiffness on the performance of an energy harvesting device. Currently he is looking to improve the performance of an energy harvesting device for low frequency applications.


Dr. Kok Swee Leong (Stephen)

Biography
Swee Leong was awarded Ph.D in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK in 2010, worked on thick-film fabrication technologies for energy harvesting devices. He has been a lecturer in UTeM since 2003 after completed his MSc degree in EEE from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), worked on optical planar waveguide fabrication and characterization. He is now active in research activities related to piezoelectric thick-film devices for the application of sensing, actuating and energy harvesting.
