EPSRC Energy Harvesting Network

Euromech Colloquium on Structural Control and Energy Harvesting

Date: 25th July 2011 - 27th July 2011
Location: University of Bristol, UK

The scope of the colloquium is low-power vibration suppression. This covers topics within the fields of structural control and energy harvesting. For example, the use of active and semi-active devices, such as piezoelectric actuators and magneto-rheological dampers for vibration suppression will be covered. Also, control strategies for shape-changing and harvesting energy from vibration, solar or thermal sources will be topics for discussion. A key theme will be the possibility of providing structural control or remote feedback sensing for control using harvested energy. Topics such as energy efficient control strategies and control with minimal sensor input will be encouraged.
