Biography
I am Md Shamim Ahmed, a Ph.D student at Aston University, researching Rotational Energy Harvesters under Dr. Yu Jia's supervision. My focus is high-energy orbital oscillations. I'm passionate about interdisciplinary research, particularly in vibration dynamics and renewable energy. As part of the Energy Harvesting Network, I aim to contribute to sustainable solutions for global energy needs.

Biography
Yu Jia has an MEng Electromechanical Engineering from University of Southampton and PhD in Engineering from University of Cambridge. Prior to joining Aston, he was a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and then Associate Professor at the University of Chester between 2015 and 2019, leading the Smart Microsystems Research Group. His research interests include Energy harvesting, MEMS, vibration, smart systems and composites. He is also a co-founder of 8power Ltd.
