Saša Zelenika attained the M.Sc. degree at the University of Rijeka, Croatia and the D.Sc. degree at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy. After a R&D career in industry, he was Head of Mechanical Engineering at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland (1998-2005). From 2004 he is faculty member of the University of Rijeka - Faculty of Engineering. Currently he is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Design. His research interests encompass precision engineering and microsystems technologies. He took active part of numerous scientific projects and has authored more than 70 scientific publications and 1 patent.
