Biography
J. Ventura graduated in Physics by the University of Porto (UP) in 2000 and completed his PhD in Physics by the same institution in 2006. Since 2008 he is a Researcher at the Institute of Physics of Materials of the University of Porto (IFIMUP). In 2012, J. Ventura was elected president of IFIMUP and appointed to the board of direction of the Associated Laboratory Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotecnology (IN). Under his mandate, IFIMUP-IN applied for and was integrated in the Portuguese Roadmap of Research Infrastructures of Strategic Relevance. In parallel, he had a major role in implementing the QREN project Strengthening and Requalification of the Infrastructure for Micro/Nanofabrication of the UP, a collaborative effort led by the UP Rectorate. He is an invited professor and a member of the Scientic Committee of the Applied Physics Master in at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Porto.
J. Ventura completed the supervision of 2 PhD students and published 1 book chapter, 96 papers in international peer review journals (including Phys. Rev. Lett., J. Mater. Chem., Nanotech.) with an accumulated impact factor of 250, over 700 citations and an h-index of 15.
