Biography
Denis Benasciutti was born in Ferrara on 1975, April 17th. He received the Laurea degree in Materials Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Ferrara in 2001 and the Ph.D. in Civil and Industrial Engineering from the same institution in 2005. Since May 2005 to March 2006 he attended a Master on Welding Engineering at University of Ferrara, and he achieved in 2006 the certification as European/International Welding Engineer - EWE/IWE, issued by Italian Institute of Welding (IIS), Genoa. In the same period he was post-doc research fellow at Department of Engineering, Ferrara. Since December 2006 he is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udine, and he is member of Department of Electrical Management and Mechanical Engineering (DIEGM) in the same institution.
His main research interests are:
- structural durability and fatigue under variable amplitude loadings, with special focus on spectral methods with Gaussian and non-Gaussian wide-band stochastic loadings;
- multiaxial fatigue;
- finite element simulations, with special focus on thermo-mechanical analysis;
- energy harvesting with piezoelectric devices.
