Biography
I currently work as an expert in electrical machinery in the R&D Automation and Controls Department of Wärtsilä Finland Oy. My main responsibilities include research, development, operation, design and support of electrical machinery for power generation plants. Among my other responsibilities are building internal and external collaborations with universities, customers and other industries regarding electrical machinery.

I obtained an Master's degree with distinction class in Electrical Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University), Espoo in 2008. I earned a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Aalto University, Finland in November 2011.

My research interests include electrical machinery, energy harvesting, power and energy systems, smart grid protections, modelling, analysis and simulation of smart grids, control and automation in power systems, lightning overvoltage protection of power networks, reliability assessment of future electrical energy systems, interfacing of large scale renewable energy sources to the power grids, development of flexible solutions for energy storage systems, electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
