The School of Engineering of Sao Carlos from University of Sao Paulo, Brasil is a major engineering institution in Brasil. The Laboratory of Dynamics is hosted by the Mechanical Engineering Department and develops research projects in the area of dynamics and vibrations. The area of smart materials and structures is currently one of the major interest research areas in the Lab. and vibration energy harvesting is a major research topic.

Biography
BSc and MSc on Mechanical Engineering from University of Sao Paulo, Brasil, in 1987 and 1991, respectively. PhD in Engineering Mechanics from Iowa State University in 1996. Research Scholar during the 2009-2010 academic year at CIMSS-Center for Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, Virginia Tech working on piezoelectric energy harvesting under the supervision of Prof. Daniel J. Inman. Currently is a full Professor in vibrations and dynamics at University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
